Great leaders know that they need to walk away from something first before they can add something new that is sustainable.  What should make it to the top of the list are things that we know are bad for us and do not help us reach our potential.  This is not an easy task, especially if we have been doing the wrong thing for a long time.  This HBR post was very helpful:
